Welcome to Season of Prayer!

We are excited to kick-off our new sermon series, "A Season of Prayer" which began Sunday September 26, 2021.  This sermon series has been in the works for almost a year and now we are excited to present what we believe God has been laying on the heart of Church Leadership for the last year.

Season of Prayer is going to look and feel different than our traditional Sunday Morning Services.  We will be having a shorter time of worship and  a shorter message time.  These will be at the beginning of our service as well.  Then we will be having small group time and an extended time of prayer during our church service!    These changes will only be for the next 4 weeks, nevertheless we are excited to join and partner together in a Season of Prayer!

Small Group Questions

For those who might not be able to join us in-person we wanted to post the Small Group Questions here for you to be able to participate from home.  We would encourage you to try and find someone to discuss these questions with after the service is over so that you can have greater interaction with the  small group questions.

Week 1: Small Group Questions

  1. How much of your prayer time do you spend on adoration?
  2. Do you ever spend praying where all you do is adoration? Why or why not?
  3. What is your favorite characteristic/attribute of God that you celebrate in prayer? Why?

Read Psalm 18:1-3 and discuss the following questions:

  1. What are the metaphors and descriptions used for God?
  2. Why does he stack these one after another?
  3. What does his admiration for God lead him to talk about in his prayer?
  4. Why do we as Christians regularly ignore the qualities of God when we pray?

Week 2: Small Group Questions

  1. What are the 6 reasons for confessing our sin? Don’t just repeat them, come up with your own way of describing them.

  2. How have you viewed confession of sin?

  3. How have you practiced confession in your prayer life?

  4. Do you leave feeling refreshed/renewed/restored after confessing or do you find yourself feeling guilty and knowing you’ll just repeat the same thing over again?

  5. Does confession feel more like guilt or freedom?

  6. Is your habit to confess only when it is pointed out to you by someone or do you have a normal practice to sit with God in an unhurried way to listen and see what confession needs to take place? Describe.

  7. Which of the 5 Steps of Confession brought new insight to your practice of confession? How?
